Minsk. Belarusian oil refineries intend to process at least 16-16.5 million tonnes of oil in 2020. Alternative oil will account for at least 10% of the volume, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim Andrei Rybakov after a government conference hosted by the head of state on 13 August.
The official said: “In the second half of the year we will process 3 million tonnes more than we did in the first half of the year. It is even 1 million tonnes more than in the same period of last year.”
According to the source, at present the Belarusian oil refineries operate steadily, plans on deliveries till the end of the year are in place. “At the same time we continue doing systemic and constant work on alternative oil deliveries,” Andrei Rybakov noted. He reminded that the first batch of American oil of a new blend will be delivered to Belarus today. The oil refinery Naftan will examine its advantages and disadvantages. As a whole, it will be the second shipment of oil from the USA.
Participants of the government conference held by the head of state also discussed plans on oil deliveries in 2021. Negotiations with Russian suppliers and other ones are already in progress, the Belneftekhim head said. “It is part of daily fruitful commercial work. There are no force-majeure circumstances and other circumstances in it. The domestic demand has been fully satisfied and will be fully satisfied. We offer fuel of the highest quality,” Andrei Rybakov assured.
Asked to comment on the statement made by U.S. Secretary of State Michael Pompeo about the possible suspension of oil shipments to Belarus, the Belneftekhim head noted that the country counts on long-term cooperation with all the international oil suppliers.
