Schlumberger is building a plant producing parts for electrical submersible pumps in Lipetsk region
Moscow. International company Schlumberger has started constructing a plant manufacturing equipment for oil production in Lipetsk region. The company’s application was approved last year at the meeting of the Board of Experts for Industrial Production Special Economic Zones in the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.
“Several sites were considered as possible places for the project”, said Alexander Borisov, Schlumberger’s VP of GR and Communications for Russia and Central Asia. “While choosing the place for construction we considered a lot of factors such as economic ones, the site’s location and the current level of its development, availability and accessibility of resources, the level of authorities’ support and other. All these factors combined made us choose the territory of SEZ “Lipetsk”.
By 2018 it is planned to start batch producing parts for electrical submersible pumps. The plant will cover the area of 10 hectares. The total amount of investment will amount to 3.8 billion Rubles.
Alexander Borisov mentioned that this will be a state-of the art and modern manufacture. The products will be supplied not only to Russian consumers, but to CIS countries as well as abroad.
Note, that the plant producing parts for electrical submersible pumps is the first company’s producing facility in the region.
