LUKOIL and Kalmykia promote cooperation
Moscow. Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Yakushev, RF Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities, and Vagit Alekperov, President of LUKOIL, held a working meeting with Batu Khasikov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, today in Elista, the Republic of Kalmykia, and discussed the development of the fuel and energy complex and social sector in the region.
Vagit Alekperov and Batu Khasikov signed an Agreement on Social and Economic Cooperation between LUKOIL and the Republic of Kalmykia. The document is called to promote potential production growth, improve the investment climate in the region, develop the mineral resource base, ensure efficient use of natural resources and preserve the environment. In addition to that, LUKOIL will continue to support charity projects in Kalmykia as part of the above agreement.
During his visit, Vagit Alekperov also had a chance to visit the Oktyabr movie theater in Elista. It had been completely renovated and fitted with state-of-the-art equipment as part of implementing the previous cooperation agreement between the company and the region.
