Dollar surges above 67-ruble mark for first time since August 2016
Moscow. The dollar rose by 44 kopecks to 67.09 rubles on the Moscow Exchange on Friday. The last time the dollar surpassed 67 rubles on August 3, 2016.
Despite the weakening of the ruble against the dollar, the euro exchange rate declined 6 kopecks to 76.88 rubles.
At the same time, the ruble-denominated MOEX Russia Index (previously MICEX) fell by 1.2% to 2,281.93 points as Friday trading opened on the Moscow Exchange. The dollar-denominated RTS lost 2.3% and reached 1,072.48 points, reports TASS.
